This table allows the RASWIN workstations to determine which register
number
is to be assigned to each individual workstation based on its Windows
WORKSTATION ID
assignment. Each register MUST have a unique register number so that
individual settings
related to its connected hardware and operational settings (such as the
user who logged in,
accounting date assigned, etc.) can be kept distinct from all other
workstations. Even if
a workstation is assigned a non-production role, such as just doing
maintenance, inquiry or
reporting functions, it still must be assigned its own register number.
When the program starts it will initially connect to the database and then
check the
WSID_REGNUM table using its assigned Workstation
ID.
If no entry is found the register
has no way to confirm what its register number is.
Because the values in the
WSID_REGNUM
table must be unique, both in the
WSID column, and the
REGNUM column, it is therefore
impossible to have duplicate register number assignments.
RASWIN uses a small data file located in the
c:\program files (x86)\quadrant\raswin directory
to tell it what
register number was assigned.
This is augmented by the
WSID_REGNUM table.
-
WSID
This is the name of the assigned Windows Workstation ID value.
Quadrant will assist you in
creating the needed entries, or you can use the provided utility
program called
REGSET to make the needed entry.
-
REGNUM
This is the assigned 3 digit register number. It must be between 001
and
999, and only one
WSID
can be assigned to each register number.
-
PROGRAM_VERSION
RASWIN updates this column with the version number of the
currently running RASWIN.EXE executable file each time
it starts.
